Whether you are using smart switches and meters with Tuya WiFi/Zigbee connectivity, such as Bituo Technik's SRS Smart Relay Switches and SPM/SDM Smart Energy Meters, you may occasionally need to reset the device for network pairing or clear its historical energy data.

This guide provides comprehensive steps for both scenarios.

***

### 💡 Quick Guide: Which Reset Method Should You Choose?

Before you begin, identify your goal to avoid accidentally losing your data:

* **Scenario 1: Changing Wi-Fi network or switching phones, but want to perfectly retain historical energy records.** 👉 **Choose: Reset Network Pairing Only.** (Your device will reconnect, and old data will remain intact).
* **Scenario 2: Giving the device to someone else, or wanting to start energy measurement completely from zero.** 👉 **Choose: Reset Network + Clear Data.** *(Note: For SPM/SDM Smart Meters, you MUST also clear the accumulated total energy stored in the MCU's Flash memory. See the "Crucial Technical Note" at the bottom to ensure accurate App and Cloud data display).*

### Part 1: Smart Relay Switches

*Applicable to Bituo Technik* [*SRS Series*](https://docs.bituo-technik.com/product-document/srs-series) *and most standard Tuya Smart Switches.*

#### Scenario A: Reset Network Pairing Only

*Result: The device enters pairing mode. The virtual Device ID remains unchanged, and the energy data stored at the Tuya Cloud remains unchanged.*

You can do this in three ways:

1. **Hardware Button:** Press and hold the "Reset Button" on the device for more than 5 seconds until the LED starts flashing.
2. **Without Reset Button (Wall Switch Method):** If the relay is installed in a wall box and the physical button is inaccessible, turn off the switch between“S”, “S1” or “S2” and “L” for 5 seconds. Then, perform 5 precise switching cycles within 5 seconds: **ON → OFF → ON → OFF → ON**. The device will enter pairing mode. *(Refer to our YouTube tutorial at 01:22-01:32 for SRS01 1PM and 02:25-02:40 for SRS01 2PM).*

3. **Via Smart Life APP:** (Requires device to be online) Open the app -> Go to device page -> Tap the **Edit (Pen) icon** in the top right -> Tap **Remove Device** -> Select **Remove**.

#### Scenario B: Reset Network + Clear Data

*Result: The device generates a NEW virtual Device ID upon repairing. Previous cloud data (e.g., energy consumption charts) is permanently deleted.*

* **Via Smart Life APP:** Open the app -> Go to device page -> Tap the Edit (Pen) icon -> Tap Remove Device -> Select Remove and Clear data.

### Part 2: Smart Meters & Circuit Breakers

*Applicable to Bituo Technik's* [*SPM Series*](https://docs.bituo-technik.com/product-document/spm-series) *and*[ *SDM Series*](https://docs.bituo-technik.com/product-document/sdm-series)*, and most Tuya Smart Meters/Circuit Breakers.*

#### Scenario A: Reset Network Pairing Only

*Result: The device enters pairing mode. The virtual Device ID remains unchanged.*

1. **Hardware Button:** Press and hold the "Reset Button" for more than 5 seconds until the LED flashes.
2. **Via Smart Life APP:** Tap the **Edit (Pen) icon** -> **Remove Device** -> **Remove**.

#### Scenario B: Reset Network + Clear Data

*Result: New virtual Device ID generated, cloud data charts are cleared.*

* **Via Smart Life APP:** Tap the **Edit (Pen) icon** -> **Remove Device** -> **Remove and Clear data**.

To ensure accurate data display after a reset, you must also clear the MCU memory:

* Go to device page in App -> **Settings** -> **Energy Management** -> **Zero Energy** -> **Confirm**.

### ⚠️ Crucial Technical Note: Clearing MCU Flash Accumulated Energy

Please note that the "Remove and clear data" step above **does NOT clear the total accumulated energy stored inside the device's MCU (Microcontroller Unit) Flash memory**.

**Why is this important?** Tuya handles data differently depending on the device type:

* **Smart Relays:** Report energy changes periodically (e.g., every 15 mins/1 hour). The app displays the difference.
* **Smart Meters / Circuit Breakers:** Report the **absolute total accumulated energy** to the cloud. The cloud calculates the difference between two timestamps to show your daily/monthly usage.

If you only clear the cloud data but leave the MCU data intact, your app may display incorrect energy spikes when the meter reconnects and uploads the old accumulated total.

**How to completely zero out the Meter:** To ensure accurate data display after a reset, you must also clear the MCU memory:

* Go to device page in App -> **Settings** -> **Energy Management** -> **Zero Energy** -> **Confirm**.
