Do SPM and SDM energy sensors work with split-phase systems in USA and Canada (120V/240V)?
[SPM/SDM Products]

Yes! Our sensors feature a wide voltage design (100\~240V AC, 50/60Hz) making them compatible with North American split-phase systems. However, please note the following hardware specifics based on the model:

**Split-Phase Model (SDM02) :**

* SDM02 is **specifically designed** for split-phase systems. Its Wi-Fi and Zigbee models are fully compatible and works perfectly across both 120V (L1-N, L2-N) and 240V (L1-L2).

**Single-Phase Models (SPM01):**

* **SPM01 Zigbee:** Fully compatible with both 120V (L1-N, L2-N) and 240V (L1-L2).
* **SPM01 Wi-Fi:** Only works across **L1-L2 (240V)**. It cannot be used on L1-N or L2-N (120V) because the 120VAC input is insufficient for the internal power supply to convert and drive the higher-consuming Wi-Fi module.

*Note: For ODM customers, we offer specially designed SPM01 Wi-Fi models for 120V applications — please contact us for details.*

**Three-Phase Models (SPM02 & SDM01):**

* We **do not recommend** using these for multi-circuit monitoring in North American residential applications. If you must use them, please choose the **Zigbee versions** (due to their lower power consumption) and avoid the Wi-Fi versions.

Does the SPM02 FLEX support measurement of three single-phase circuits?
[SPM02]

* **For 220–240V 50/60Hz systems:** Yes — you can connect the **brown, black, and gray live wires** to the **same phase line**, and the device will measure all three single-phase circuits correctly.
* **For 110–120V 50/60Hz systems:** It is **not supported** due to internal power supply limitations.

Does SDM01 support solar export limiting (Zero Export) ?
[SDM01]

Yes! The **BLE + Wi-Fi + RS485** model is specifically optimized for export-limiting and energy management.

> ⚡ **Pro Tip:** For ultra-fast control (<150ms response for strict zero-export), we highly recommend the **SDM01 Gen2**.

**Integration Methods:**

* **Wi-Fi (Balcony PV & ESS):** Supports UDP, WebSocket, and Modbus TCP. Includes a one-click API switch for seamless Shelly 3EM Pro replacement.
* **RS485 (Residential PV & ESS):** In addition to its own Modbus RTU register list, the SDM01 can act as a drop-in replacement by covering the key registers of ABB B23 and Eastron SDM630.

**🤝 For Equipment Manufacturers (Inverter / EVSE / ESS):**

* **Custom Firmware:** Thanks to the dual MCU + SoC architecture, manufacturers can write their own custom SoC firmware, or simply use our standard LAN-optimized firmware.
* **Integration Support:** End-to-end compatibility ultimately depends on the host system. We offer maximum technical cooperation for manufacturers looking to natively integrate our meters.
